About ESCII:  

Executive Committee: is composed of three active members elected by the General Assembly to exercise administrative control and financial supervision and whose mandate lasts three years. The officers of the Society’s first Executive Committee are: President - Dr. Michael Papamichail, Vice President - Dr. Cornelius Melief, Treasurer - Dr. Guido Forni, Secretary - Dr. Rolf Kiessling, Member - Dr. Thomas Blankenstein, Member - Dr. Christoph Huber.  

Committees: The following Committees will be set up:  

a membership committee: consisting of three (3) members will deal with issues of membership, namely review of the nomination of prospective members, processing of applications from candidate members and recommendation to the Board of Directors of acceptance or rejection of an applicant. With a view to the enlargement of the Society, it will also engage periodically in recruitment activities in order to elect new members.  

a finance committee: consisting of three (3) members and  headed by the treasurer who will supervise all financial policies of the Society. All administrative transactions covering the entire year that will correspond to the calendar year, the terminal balance as well as the proposed budget for the following fiscal year, shall be documented in a yearly financial report that will be handed to the Executive Committee and the Board of Directors and also presented to all members at the General Assembly. The finance committee will include two other members appointed by the Board.  

an education committee: of three (3) members will be established by the Board and additionally staffed by any Society member interested in examining academic issues, as well as gathering and highlighting developments pertaining to the field. It will eventually undertake the publication of a Societal Journal.

a scientific committee: appointed by the Board of Directors whose principal concern and responsibility will be the organization of the Society’s meetings. These meetings will include summer schools, workshops or international conferences. Such a committee will also be responsible for soliciting funds for Societal activities including international scientific meetings, workshops or summer schools.  

an award committee consisting of three (3) members appointed by the Board will attend to the selection and nomination to the Board of prospective recipients for the awards that will grant free attendance to the Society’s meetings. Anyone in the student or trainee membership category is an eligible candidate for such awards.
